Under a Watchful Gaze

Description

Since moving to Argentina from the UK, every year my father & his partner come to visit. Thankfully even at nearly 81 he is still in wonderful shape and alway up for an adventure. So every time they are over we make time for a trip somewhere in this incredible country. This year we decided to head to Salta & Jujuy. We were on our way to Salina Grande when this group of Guanaco appeared to our right. They were quite close so I stopped the truck, popped on my Fujinon 50-230 and started to snap away. To my surprise they kept coming closer until finally the Alpha male climbed this little hillock to get better look at me. Perhaps I had the wind in my favor, I don't know, but he stood there for a moment as he considered me & how best they should proceed. I guess it was just a moment, but it felt longer. Then decision made they ran off towards the horizon and they once more became one with their surroundings, lost to the human eye.
